Beautification

Since we do not have a formal HOA, and we do not collect dues, the members of our neighborhood need to work together to ensure that the common areas are well-maintained. If you live in the neighborhood, please expect to be solicited for the tiny amount of about $20 per year per household, to ensure that the lawn is well-maintained at the entrance.

Beyond lawn care, we do ask for volunteers for scheduled maintenance events such as tree trimming and shrub maintenance at the entrance.

The essential components of the maintenance plan are as follows.

  • Each single-family home in Bay Ridge (thus excluding the townhouses) will be asked to contribute just $20 per year.
  • The money collected will be used to pay a lawn care contractor to perform as-needed lawn mowing and other essential grounds care services. These services will be expected approximately every three to four weeks during the growing season.
  • Each of the four Bay Ridge sections will be represented by several “Section Captains”, basically divided by streets.
  • Each Captain will take responsibility for canvassing their portion of the neighborhood to collect the monies.
  • One family will act as treasurer to collect the monies and hire the contractor.
  • Any monies not spent any summer will be reserved for next summer’s lawn care.
  • If sufficient funds are not donated, lawn services will be ceased when money runs out.
